To assist in the recruitment of Partner, Associates and Counsel for the London office.

This post requires daily contact with the Legal Recruitment and Trainee Development Manager and frequent contact with the Human Resources Generalist, Human Resources Manager, the Lateral Recruitment Manager (US), the London Hiring Partners, Practice Group Heads, Practice Group Managers/Administrators, representatives from the online recruitment system provider and legal recruitment agencies.

Job Description

Associate Recruitment
  • Monitor the internal lateral associate approval process, including maintaining records of open roles and their approval status.
  • Regularly update the Legal Recruitment Manager on the status of open roles, interview statistics, and candidates' progression through the selection process.
  • Support the Legal Recruitment Manager in preparing reports on lateral recruiting including management reports on interviews, offers made, rejections, offers declined and retention rates.
  • Work with Practice Group Management to write accurate and full job descriptions for roles.
  • Log all applicant details in the applicant tracking system.
  • Ensure the applicant tracking system is constantly updated and that all candidate records are complete and accurate in line with data protection best practice.
  • Put in place an applicant "help" mailbox - ensure it is monitored and that all queries are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Screen speculative applications in line with the business criteria and demand and respond to all speculative applications in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a record of agencies that have signed Dechert's standard fee agreement.
  • Assist Practice Group Management and Office Managers with scheduling and coordinating interviews.
  • Assist Practice Group Management and Office Managers with obtaining interview feedback from Partners.
  • Maintain an online record of all interview feedback.
  • Prepare candidate offer letters and save all in a centralised location.
  • Track offers and update Practice Group Management on their status.
  • Work closely with the HR department to handover new joiners for onboarding.
  • Assist and carry out all other administrative duties which may be required during the year to ensure the efficient running of the recruitment process in London.
Partner Recruitment
  • Assist the Legal Recruitment Manager with putting in place a consistent process for lateral Partner recruitment in the London office.
  • Liaise with Partners and Practice Group Management to schedule and coordinate lateral Partner interviews.
  • Liaise with Partners and Practice Group Manager to obtain feedback on all candidates, and maintain a record of the feedback.
Other Recruitment Admin
  • Provide back-up and cover for the Legal Recruiting Specialist in their absence and during busy periods.
  • Liaising with recruitment agencies when the Legal Recruitment Manager is out of the office.
  • Providing recruitment support to the EMEA Human Resources team if and when required.
  • Assist the Legal Recruitment Specialist with screening graduate applications on Apply4Law.
  • Carry out ad hoc projects as directed.
