Business Development Manager
Business Development Manager A Business Development Manager is required by a leading international, fast growing chemical manufacturing and distribution company to create and manage the proactive sales of their range of products across Europe, Middle East and Africa. The focus of this role is Account Management, with the objective of establishing and growing sales. The role will be using the distributor and OEM network and liaising directly with major resellers and distributors to build relationships in order to maximise opportunity and profile presence and to achieve targeted growth in sales and product range. Business Development Manager Responsibilities & Duties: - Ensure customer satisfaction. - Develop initiatives and programmes necessary to deliver growth through existing customers. - Negotiate contracts and manage account relationships at all levels. - Manage account relationship directly by creating effective relationships with technical, purchasing, safety and regulatory staff at all levels in order to increase opportunities for product sales. - Visit key accounts regularly and proactively. - Meet financial performance, growth objectives and agreed sales targets. - Managing customer complaints for associated accounts to maintain a high level of Customer service. - Support Technical Product Manager with issuing and following up quotations via the CRM system. - Regular communication on upcoming sales opportunities within the weekly Sales and Planning meeting - Manage the relationship with the distributor network across designated markets. Develop distributor network and create effective relationships across all markets to increase existing and new business opportunities for product sales. - Support Technical Product Manager in the research of new product development opportunities and commercially evaluate and report upon new product and territory opportunities. - Build relationships with the community of behalf of the Company, representing the Company at exhibitions and other external events as appropriate. - Deliver accurate and timely visit reports, Account performance and budget reports as required by senior management and maintain an accurate forecast for associated accounts with in the CRM system. - Ensure that business is conducted with integrity at all times and that behaviour is compliant with the Company's ethics code and values. Knowledge Skills & Experience: - Significant relevant sales or account management experience for technically based products in an international environment. - Chemical, medical or gas filtration industry experience. Experience of military markets and/or export control ed items would be an advantage. - Must demonstrate experience in presenting technology to clients and in closing technical sales deals. - Significant experience of Engineering or product management gained from either the chemical, industrial gas or petrochemical industry. - Desire to Learn. - Good negotiation and influencing skills. - Additional spoken language(s) an advantage. - Ability to travel 30% of time to pursue opportunities and develop account relationships. Salary Guide: £30,000 - £35,000 plus sales incentive scheme & benefits. Hours: 09.00 17.00 - Monday - Friday. Location: Harlow, Essex.
